Prodigal is a gem... achingly beautiful... the level of professionalism in the music and writing is almost unbelievably good... the family’s prejudice is never allowed to dehumanise them, and their confusion and anger are always portrayed compassionately... never sentimental, but [doesn’t] shy from the giving the audience’s emotions a good raking.
